Bojagi (also known as Pojagi) is an ancient Korean art form. Women used to make wrapping cloths for storing and carrying household and personal items. In unlined bojagi patchwork, the seam is finished on both sides. This makes the piece reversible, with no right or wrong side. The art of bojagi is being revived. In this course you use batik fabric scraps to make machine-made reversable seams, sewn in the bojagi style, to make a simple window “stain glass” wall hanging.

You do this by placing snow or ice cubes on top of prepared for dyeing fabric, adding liquid dye on top of the ice, letting the melting process dictate how the dye splits, bleeds, and ultimately strikes the fabric. This technique leads to surprising and delightful results every time! In this class you will learn the ice dyeing process as well as folding techniques to get the amazing patterns on a total of 2 yards of fabric and one optional item. All dye is in liquid form and ready for you to use.

If you have a little more experience paper piecing, you can piece along with us or choose your own stars and join the fun. All of these blocks can be found in the required pattern book.
