Girls Matter Period - Monthly

We have monthly workshops with Girls Matter Period, where they come and make washable feminine hygiene kits for girls and women in need. This allows them to stay in school, keep working, and keep living their lives even when they are on their menstrual cycle. Which is a luxury that a lot of us take advantage of. You can join in on these workshops by bring your sewing machine and sewing the kits that the group puts together. There are other non-sewing jobs available as well if you would like to join in but are not able to bring your machine for any reason.

DONATIONS APPRECIATED: These kits are best made using batik fabrics with no graphic prints on them. Medium to darker colors are better than lighter colors. If you have any batik fabrics, they are always appreciated for making more kits. They also appreciate individually wrapped bars of soap.

Check the next available Girls Matter Period dates on our Class Calendar.

AZ Blankets for Kids- Daily
We are a donation drop off center for AZ Blankets for Kids! They usually come pick up the finished handmade blankets once every 1-2 weeks. We generally only accept completed quilts and prefer if you leave them with us folded and inside a trash bag.

If you are interested in making blankets for AZ Blankets for kids, please visit their website to view their parameters and size requests.

Cuppa Donations & Food Donations

We collect non-perishable food donations year round and donat them to the New Hope Center here in Mesa. They can always use non-perishable food items, and we are happy to help provide them to the center for you.
